Presbyterian Church of Queensland – Church Health Facilitation Team Training

It was great to return to Lake Moogerah south-west of Brisbane to continue training the new Church Health Facilitation Team for the Presbyterian Church of Queensland. This was their second live-in, workshop 4 of 6 in the training program. Tim taught on church systems and power dynamics, and we spent some time developing facilitation skills and reflecting on a past consultancy to consider choosing processes and forming recommendations.

Tim and I were pleased to connect with the Church Health Facilitation Team via Zoom from Melbourne this morning. We returned to the standard facilitation process before reflecting on different types of consultancies (problem solving, re-visioning, and redevelopment) and their respective dynamics. We also covered a range of diagnostic tools including comment groups, street retreats and church timelines.

Our next stage of training a new Church Health Facilitation Team for the Presbyterian Church of Queensland went live via Zoom this morning.  Following a Biblical reflection on Ephesians 4, Tim built on the Church Life Cycle model by explaining church size dynamics (family, pastoral, program, and corporate sizes). We continued developing facilitation skills and finished considering principles for working with rural churches.
