Self-Care and Resilience in Ministry – SMBC

It was great to return to Sydney Missionary and Bible College 8th – 12th July for a full intensive week teaching the Australian College of Theology Course PC073 on Self-Care and Resilience in Ministry.

The course included Biblical reflections on self-care and resilience, understanding the unique stresses and dynamics of ministry, managing adversity and crisis in ministry, rest, supportive relationships, the role of emotional intelligence in self-care and resilience, and more.

The notes and resources made available to students through the course are on the SMBC moodle interface.

Mentor Equipping in Sydney–SMBC Unit 721 Workshop 2

I really enjoyed being back in Sydney today for a full training day for people with a ministry of mentoring. Great to meet people in this cohort in person and work through the day at SMBC Roberts Dale Campus.

I enjoyed being back at SMBC in Sydney, this time for a week long intensive on Resilience and Self Care in Ministry. All the notes and exercises from the course are in the dropbox and have been loaded onto the moodle site.

Mentor Equipping Training launches at SMBC

Sydney Missionary and Bible College

I really enjoyed working with our Mentor Equipping trainers in Sydney, Peter Moore and Sally Jones to launch the first cohort of trainees in the accredited version of the MEQ course. The training is a development of the course first put together by Les Scarborough. It has been extensively updated and is now offered as an Australian College of Theology program. Our first residential is just complete and there are two more workshops in this unit. A second cohort is due to start in January – please contact SMBC if your are interested.
