It has been a privilege to spend the last few days with a new group of pastors and leaders being trained as church consultants for the Baptist Union of Victoria. In our first residential we focussed on outlining the standard consultancy process, providing skills in setting consultancy objectives with local churches and working through several processes for gathering information from church members. We also covered several basic principles of consultancy work within a Christian context and looked at the specific dynamics of churches.
EPIC – Anglican Diocese of Melbourne
It has been enjoyable to share the day with the Priests in Charge training program for the Diocese of Melbourne at St Michaels North Carlton. We looked at a range of issues related to self-care under the title of healthy clergy – healthy parishes.
Connecting Conference: Faithfulness through the Generations

Visit to Mauritius sponsored by the Anglican Diocese
Merran and I are enjoying a visit to Mauritius at the invitation of the Anglican Diocese to run a week long seminar on self care, health and leadership development for clergy and spouses of several denominations on the Island.
We are meeting at Le Thabor, a Catholic Retreat and Training Centre which was one of the old colonial mansions previously called the White Tower.

Churches of Christ Vic Tas – Accreditation of new consultants
I always enjoy completing a training program and seeing a group of consultants recognised for their contribution to church health. Today the second team of consultants, male and female, clergy and lay, for the Victorian and Tasmanian conference of the Churches of Christ were accredited following three years of training. They are already out and about working with churches, we reviewed three live consultancies today and discussed an up and coming consultancy for the new year. Thanks to Robyn Millership, Peter Broadbent and Michael Vanderee for their assistance with training. After 6 years of training, I will now be stepping back to supervise and support the training group and the above team will lead the church health consultancy process forward from here for the Churches of Christ.
