Back again to Macquarie Park! Again with the Specialised Consultancy Team at the Ministry and Learning Centre for the Baptist Association of NSW and ACT. We started by reflecting on insights from Appreciative Enquiry (Ai) and its place in Complicated and Complex Systems. We then explored the benefits of taking an Assets Based Community Development (ABCD) in church consulting.
The notes and resources can be found in SharePoint.

Tim concluded the seminar series Transform Southern Sydney has been hosting for leaders on change and transition leadership (on zoom from Perth today). He explained stages and phases in life and leadership and the life cycle of a church / congregation, introduced several analytical tools, and concluded by covering elements of leadership theory specifically related to leading transitions well. It has been a pleasure to journey with the group through the year.
All notes and resources are now in the team Dropbox.

The seventh and final of a series of workshops with members of the Transform Southern Sydney mentoring group occurred on zoom this morning. Tim commenced with a word study on ‘imitate’ (mimeomai) in the New Testament and we considered its implications for mentoring. We reflected on the interpersonal skill of self-disclosure in mentoring and the dynamic of transference. We spent time considering common sources of pressure from subconscious processes and supporting mentors through Sabbaticals. It has been a delight to spend time with the mentoring group in the workshops.
Notes from the workshops are in the team Dropbox.
Our next stage of training a new Church Health Facilitation Team for the Presbyterian Church of Queensland went live via Zoom this morning. Following a Biblical reflection on Ephesians 4, Tim built on the Church Life Cycle model by explaining church size dynamics (family, pastoral, program, and corporate sizes). We continued developing facilitation skills and finished considering principles for working with rural churches.
