Leading Change and Transition: Seminar 2 (Live in Sydney)

Transform Southern Sydney has been hosting a series of seminars for leaders on change and transition leadership. My associate Luke and I were able to be live (for a change from zoom) in Sydney for the second of the series. We met at the newly fitted ministry centre in Hurstville for an afternoon of training. Key topics covered in this second seminar included managing resistance to change through: Understanding church systems and their natural tendency to stability, Applying Katzenbach’s Critical Few Theory and using Kegan and Lahey’s Immunity to the Change process.

All notes and resources are now in our team dropbox.

Mentoring Leadership – Workshop 5

After four training sessions on Zoom last year, it was great to be face to face with members of the Transform Southern Sydney mentoring group today. The training is continuing into year two with an emphasis on mentoring leaders for their growth and development. The first year explored the skills and dynamics of mentoring.

Notes from the workshop have been added to our dropbox.

Parish Recovery Team Training Sydney

It is good to be back in Sydney for Parish Recovery Team training for the Anglicans. The whole area of trauma-informed work with churches is highly topical. We looked at the principles of trauma-informed consulting and facilitation and reflected on our processes in the light of these guidelines. Notes are in our team dropbox.

Baptist Churches of NSW and ACT – Church Consultancy Training

Tim and I were pleased to connect with the Specialised Consultancy Team for the Baptist Association of NSW and ACT at the Ministry and Learning Centre in Macquarie Park.

The main topics explored in the training included Cognitive Processes in Conflict, and Polarity Management as opposed to problem solving. He also touched on Christopher Moore’s causal Elements of Conflict and David Snowden’s Complexity Theory.

The notes and resources can be found in SharePoint.
