Tim enjoyed spending Tuesday this week at the Clergy Conference for the Anglican Diocese of Canberra – Goulburn held at Bateman’s Bay. The three sessions covered an introduction to conflict management in Christian communities, some teaching resources on conflict styles and strategies which can be used at different levels of conflict. EPIC Conference
Even with three days (October 21-23) to cover the dynamics of conflict in Christian communities, Tim still had issues on the whiteboard to discuss and explore with Anglican clergy in Melbourne this week. Arrow Leadership Conference
Tim spent Wednesday 17 September teaching at the 2008 Arrow Leadership Conference in Melbourne. The main topic was conflict within Christian communities. Three sessions covered preparing for conflict, understanding personal conflict styles and managing conflict.
Faithfulness in Service 2 – Anglican Church Diocese of Sydney
The second round of Faithfulness in Service seminars was held in Sydney over the last two weeks. Tim was involved in seminars at Christ Church Anglican Church, St Ives and St Anne’s Anglican Church, Ryde on Thursday 14th August, and at Christ Church, Mortdale and Moore Theological College on Friday 15th August and at Figtree Anglican Church on the 21st August. The central issue of ‘Relational Power in Ministry’ was explored over three sessions; “The Sources of Relational Power in Ministry”, “Power and Vulnerability” and “Strategies for Wellbeing”. Presbyterian Churches of NSW – Consultancy Training Group
On Monday 18, August, members of the New South Wales Presbyterian Consultancy team met with Tim to reflect on conflicted situations in church life and to look at potential positive intervention strategies. The training day covered differences in consultation process, assessment tools, mediation skills, maintaining positive relationships and preparation for conflict.
