It was great to spend the morning with parishioners of St Clements Anglican Church in Kingston training individuals in mentoring skills and also giving some young adults an idea of what mentoring involved.
Luke and I introduced mentoring, reflected on the word ‘equip’ (katartizo) in the Scriptures, and looked at reasons people want to be mentored. We then focused on getting a mentoring relationship started and what you do in a session. We concluded by looking at a number of tools that can be used in mentoring, and time for questions and answers. It is exciting to imagine the fruit a mentoring culture may produce.
